Last but not least: Your second John of the evening, John Weir. John previously read at Oh, Bernice! in June 2012 and his reading was the highlight of our entire first season. Trust me: You really don’t want to miss him when he reads again this Saturday. See you all there!
(Here now is a bio written by Saturday’s host, Jason Fischedick.) John Weir is an esteemed professor at Queens College, where he teaches literature and creative writing for both the undergraduate level and MFA graduate level. He is the author of two novels: The Irreversible Decline of Eddie Socket and What I Did Wrong. In addition, he is a prolific Facebook philosopher and has had these, and many more, pontifications: “33 years I’ve lived in NYC, the lifespan of Jesus, I’ve never in all that time had an apartment that wasn’t very indifferently heated in January.” “Blah blah blah ‘New Year,’ blah blah blah. I hope everyone feels totally free to cling to their old bad habits, and to greet each new day with appropriate fear and (self-)loathing. If you took away my ignorance and dread, what would be left?”
